Description
In order to respond to constant competitive pressures manufacturers are always looking for an edge when it comes to cost and performance. One example of this is maintaining their existing Rockwell Logix PLC and associated code but upgrading the variable frequency drive to a best-in-class Siemens VFD like the G120. In this workshop you will learn how easy you can integrate a Siemens SINAMICS G120 into your Rockwell Logix control architecture.
The following topics will be covered during the workshop:
- Overview of the SINAMICS low-voltage drives family
- Selection and configuration tools
- Integration tools for connecting Siemens drives to Rockwell Automation controllers
- Migration solutions for integrating new Siemens drives with discontinued Rockwell Automation controllers (PLC-5 and SLC 500) on AB Remote I/O and DeviceNet
During the hands-on portion, participants will:
- Commission a SINAMICS G120 variable frequency drive
- Control a SINAMICS G120 drive with a CompactLogix PLC on EtherNet/IP™ using Studio 5000
